Dr. McPherson is a graduate of Brown University, and received his Medical Degree in 2003 from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. He completed his residency in the US Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, serving as chief resident in his final year of training. He completed his military service at Ft. Benning and served in many positions, including Inpatient Chief, Outpatient Chief, and Consultant for the Army Substance Abuse Program. He completed two tours of duty in Iraq, serving in Combat Stress Control units.
His practice is primarily medication management, with special interests in PTSD, mood disorders, Women's mental health issues including pregnancy and post-partum, ADHD, and substance abuse.
Dr. McPherson is proud to offer Suboxone treatment for opiate dependence. Suboxone treatment an office based treatment for addiction to opiate painkillers and other opiate drugs.
Dr. McPherson is board certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been a member of the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association for 10 years.
In 2013, he was named a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
